Check your wire from the generator to the regulator and on to the ampmeter and on to the battery. (On my 140 that is at the starter) While your at it check the rest of your connections in the charging system as well. If those check out here are a couple of checks you can do to find out if it is the regultor or generator. 1) Find the GEN terminal and the BAT terminal on your voltage regulator. Run a jumper between the two. Check your ampmeter for a charge. If it is charging, the regultor is bad. 2) If that doesn't work, Find the F terminal on your regultor and run a jumper to a good ground. Check your ampmeter for a charge. If either of those tests does not produce a charge, have your generator checked.
