Looked in my 504 manual. Free travel on the I504 is 1 7/8 inches. This is achieved by adjusting the threaded rod I talked about in last reply. More hints- There are 2 line up pins that may come out with brake housing or may stay on bull pinion bearing housing. Remove them from housing and place in matching holes on bull pinion housing. This will aid in reassembly. Remove plug in brake housing before reassembly. (looks like the cap on your front wheel hubs) This lets you look at splined shaft to make sure all components are on shaft before you try to bolt housing back on. KEEP EVERYTHING CLEAN.
