donr worry about the deck higth you will be using a gasket that is at least .070 thick after compresion,there were some 12000 foot altitude pistons had almost a 2 inche dome on them.you can put those pistons in any head but the 400-450 propane head.i have taken the 12000 altitude pistons and run them in a 8060 M hi-compresion head and also decked the block and brought them .030 out of the block to give the motor more compresion-- on that deal you will have to trim the edges of the pistons to keep from hiting the gasket.on the quench side i ran around .040 clerence.mind you wen you take the compresion way up hi you run into the chance of spark-nock--- bring the totla timing back to around 28-32 toal.
