The only thing that you could have done wrong is maybe that you got the seal in backwards or that you got the wrong seal somehow? they are not hard to change and they are almost fool proof. The only thing elese is that your mains are woren so bad that the crank is bounceing up and down . Did you replace the PTO bearing? some time if the bearing has to much ware it will cause the seal to leak? It has been about two years since i have worked on a 1206 and that was a total rebuild.
