Sealing the tank is secondary to getting the junk out. First thing that should be done is bringing the tank down to a radiator shop and have them clean it for ya. I had good luck with the high pressure self serve car was also...(be sure to get all the water out though) That should get rid of all the scale. If you still feel like you need to seal it then go ahead. The new sealers done properly will not flake off...like the honda guy said. I just took my bowl assemply off this weekend to clean it out too. Good luck
