Greetings, I have a 1947 O-4. It is in mostly original condition, not restored. I have it close to being ready to fire up as the engine is still good. Originally it ran on either Distillate or Gasoline and has two tanks. The owner said that it ran better on Distillate than gas but it will run on gas ok. I imagine that a slower burning fuel would work better on a low compression, low rpm engine like this one so that makes sense. I am concerned about using unleaded fuel and possibly burning the valves. Does anybody know if Distillate is the same as Kerosene and/or if Kerosene would work well? Can you "brew" something like it by mixing fuels, Or should I use gas and add something like Marvel oil to it? Anyone out there with an older model like this would care to share his opinion? Thanks. Regards, Emil
