Sounds to me like either a bad main contact on the solenoid or a bad spot on the starter motor's commutator. If you are a little bit handy, you can take the solenoid apart and clean up the contacts on the inside. Some of them had a disk for the moving contact that could be turned over to have a new surface. Or you could just get a new solenoid. Make sure all your battery conections, solenoid & starter connections (including grounds) are clean, bright and tight. If that doesn't fix it, you will have to take the starter to a shop that can test it for you.
