I changed my H from 6 to 12 volt, and I did it a lot simpler: 1) I put a 12 volt regulator on the generator. 2) I wired up the new regulator same as the 6V. 3) I changed the light bulbs to 12V. 4) I polarized the regulator (per inculded instr) 5) Reversed the groung negative ground now. 6) reversed the starter button leads. 7) left the gages as is. The generator now puts out about 13 volts @ half throttle. The ammeter shows a discharge. If I turn on the lights, a charge. I may need to reverse the ammeter leads. I start up fine and after about 5 hours run time, now smoking wires. Good luck, Irv
