Red Ted, I had the same dilemma last year and had some tractors and equipment to paint. Being a novice on painting I thought I would get ANYTHING cheap to get some experience then buy better later. I bought a Central Pneumatics one quart cup gun from Harbor Freigt, I bought the cheapest they had. three tractors, a 32 foot trailer, many plows, couple of feeders later it is still going strong and paints good enough for tractors etc. I have taken care of it and clean it very good after each use. Now it wouldn't paint a car but I have some fenders and hoods on tractors that look darn good. I have thought about painting my haul truck a 81 Chevy dually with it and may this spring. I know that pros here are gonna say I am insane but this cheap gun works for me. Also be sure to get your paint thinned nicely. I always use BPS paint from Tractor supply, mix it in a mason jar 3/4 quart paint 1/4 NAPTHA thinner. Two coats covers nicely.
