sounds like the journal is bad on the pump shaft worn where the seal goes you need to put a speedy sleeve on the shaft easy to do go to a parts place if they dont know about one go some where else these things do work they are thin and will go over the end of the shaft and will restore the journal by getting rid of the worn place where the seal sets
