SMTA: Good enough all all...

I have a SMTA. I recently rented 32 acres in hopes of using it for hay. Last year the previous renter had soybean in the field. I have some questions about what I need to do and if the SMTA is the tractor I need. Should I plow the field or should I just disc it? If one or both, will the SMTA be the answer? I do not have a ton of time because I have a fulltime job on the side, so if something larger (806, etc.) would make a world of difference in speed would you recommend "upgrading"? Thanks for your input.
