OK. First of all, #1 and #4 sleeves came out real easy because that is the two cylinders that had no compression. Consequently the upper 3/4" of the outer sleeve walls had very little blow by. #2 came out with some difficulty at first but you could see visible blow by (ref. PIX) and crud on the first 3/4" of the outer wall. #3 cylinder had the most compression of the 4 so I am sure I have considerable blow by down the first 3/4" to 1" on the outer sleeve wall. So I cleaned the top of the sleeve as thoroughly as possible and have it soaking in WD40 (skunk grease on tales). Hopefully some of that will work down around the sleeve lip and penetrate the upper part of the outer sleeve wall. Curt is prob. right about packing ice inside the sleeve in that it may not do much good. However I will give it a try. I have nothing to lose at this point. BTW, the new sleeves are in the freezer of the garage beeragator.
