Hold you hand over the throat of the carburetor while someone tries to start the tractor. You should have good suction on your hand. The intake manifold vacuum is what creates this suction and pulls the atomized fuel into the combustion chamber. Having good rings and a good seal on the valves is necessary for good vacuum as Rusty suggested. Check the bolts on the intake manifold to see if they are snug, don't overtighten. Hal
