Please don't call me crazy, but I dumped oil in a 77 ford w/400 in the dark after just shutting it off and spilled 10w30. Yes it did catch fire, only thing I had was a pair of Carhardt coveralls in the Farm Fleet shopping bag, brand new. The coveralls put it out before the fire department got there. I drove it home afterwards, no harm done. I know it does not make sence, but it is a true story. I have many times spilled gasoline on hot manifolds and never caught fire only once with a MF backhoe, and that was after I hit the starter. My blessings to the boy, keep us posted if you will, those usualy are not so good. And to make it worse, avoidable. But we all have been there an tried that.
