It Works!!!! Thanks guys for all the help. Here is the list of problems encountered on my H, First off, someone hooked up a 12v batt neg ground, the regulator was shot, the coil was wired backwards, the gen was wired backwards, two wires were backwards in the switch housing. the auto parts store impropery tested it and passed it, The new regulator came from car quest, but was a NAPA regulator (someone pulled a fastone down the line and returned a freshly toasted one), the genny was retested by a guy at the parts store who acually new how to use the machine and it failed test, the genny was taken to a starter shop retested with the regulator and failed and it was found to have the two posts wired backwards inside the genny. Also had to get another regulator. Whew! This thing bout had me nuts and cash was flying out of my wallet like bats from a cave. She puts out about 13-15 amps now at full throttle. I wonder if someone tried to make it negative ground since everything was backwards. Now that it is running I notice it has a noisy rearend...bad bearing pieces of the cage came out with the gear oil change and I have to get the rain cap from chattering, It looks like the engine may have been rebuilt, I just hope the same guy who did the wiring didn't do the engine!!
