All 656 666 70 hydro's I would think 686 had a recurculating tub in the rear end housing so that the returning hydraulic oil would flow through this tub to the suction tub to help prime the system I would say it has broken or the hose that conects the 2 tubs has developed a leak you can take off the third link plate for the 3 point hitch and check it through that opening. if it is just the hose you can fix from that opening if it is one of the tubs you will have to take off the deck. but I think you are getting air in the system. Has I said all gear and hydros of this size tractor have this.
