I know exactly what you mean, ff. I have been in on several grissly scenes myself, the worst I was ever in involved cutting a live woman from a burning car, (the fire had to be put out to get to her) her skin and hair was burned off, bare bones protruding from charred flesh on her arms and the screaming and smell was unbearable. She was a mother, her teen aged son was with her and was not severly injured but watched the whole ordeal. She was T boned by a drunk driver, he was laying along his pickup with a broken neck, un able to move but still speaking. I do not know if either of the two survived, we loaded both on seperate life flights to KU Med Center in KC. Wasn't long after that one I resigned, that was too much for me. I am not cut out for that duty, my hats off to you for doing it and understand EXACTLY how you feel. That was in 1985 and I still have nightmares about that one.
