I have a devilbiss. it was 320.00 new, bought it used from a person who didn't read the instrutions before using it and got it for 200.00 ,it was used once. he thought these guns used 10 pounds of air pressure at the gun, I wondered why he said he didn't like the way it sprayed. no the hvlp lets out 10 lbs at the cap but it takes a lot on the intake side, thats the best way to desribe the spray, 10 pounds coming out of the cap versus 45 pounds on a regular pot gun, sorta like using a cleaning nozzle on the air hose, set it at 10 pounds (hvlp) then blow off a counter, then set it at 45 pounds (old style gun) and watch it blow off the counter, same results between the two guns while spraying
