The pin is the pivot for the lever, sometimes these old girls will get 2 shift rails locking up the transmission, no big deal to fix, you will need a big pin and a little pin, + 2 soft plugs to put it back like it was built, IH part numbers, 1 256918R1 pin, 1 256919R1 pin, 2 172529 plug.
