I had that happen one time, an operator bent the dipstick. The next day he pulled the dipstick and came to me with three inches off dipstick, wondering what happened. It was obivious what happened stick was bent up near cap. I enlightened him as to just who the dipstick was. Sometimes good help is hard to find. End of dipstick was on magnet on drain plug of transmission.
