Hey! Great to hear this story. Just a couple hours ago, I buttoned up my valve cover and fired off my M with freshly adjusted valves. All 8 were incredibly loose. I could stick a wooden ruler between the rocker and the valve. I did it just the way "The Red" said, and boy does she run sweeeeeeet now. And the power! WOW! The Case/IH dealer was closed today, so I bought a roll of cork gasket material and cut my own valve cover gasket. Seems to work fine. Thanks to "The Red" for giving me the courage to try as well. Thanks to Dave from MN for confirming.
