Denny: Shows you what I know. The last transmission I was ever worked on was a 300. I did however put 60,000 hours on four tractors 300, 560D, 656D and 1066 and that 300 is the only one that was opened behind the clutch housing. That was a case of worn shifter and 3 and 4 gears engaged at same time and one of those speed shifters droped the clutch too quick. It does prove one thing, they were one tough transmission. You must admit one item, they were not syncronized like today. In that era there were tractors that shifted better. I used to tell my (green) neighbour, if he had IH torque he wouldn't need power shift. Hugh
