Dave, there should be two adjustments you can make to the pressure assembly. Both can be made pretty simply on a good flat surface. One is to make sure that the pressure plate is even in relation to the cover. If it's the standard rockford design, you'll finds six springs with adjusting bolts torugh the center. With the pressure plate resting flat on your bench, adjust these springs so that the lower edge of the cover is 27/32" above the bench surface all the way around. Then go around the bolts that adjust the fingers. Loosen the jam nuts on them, and turn the bolts until the surface of the fingers that will contact the throwout bearing are 2-5/32" above the bench surface. Double check that you haven't disturbed the 27/32" that you did before, and tighten the jam nuts on the finger adjustments. This should get things back in the range where your pedal linkage adjustment will take care of your free play. These are the dimensions Larry was referring to. Hope this helps. Scotty
