Do you have a spark when it won't start? If so, try a little starting fluid. If it is a fuel problem, it will fire right off. Might be vapor locking if you have a rubber fuel hose run too close to the manifold. Otherwise try replacing the condenser. The condenser and coil are both subject to "hot only" failure and the condenser is cheap.
