Just wanted to add my .02 worth. I grew up on 50 acres in Oregon. Grandpa always had this cub that he bought the year I was born (49). The stall in the barn where the cub sat, always had this smell. I always thought that it was the barn. I cried when I heard that my brother had to tear the old barn down. Well 4 years ago, my wife talked me into taking the truck and trailer to Oregon to get the cub. It had set for 10 years in the barn, since my brother needed bigger equipment for the nursery and the farm. It still had that smell in that stall. We brought the cub to Missouri for our farm. It sat in a shed for the winter, and then in the spring, I got it out, fixed it up and it runs like a watch. Now my shed has that smell. When life gets ugly, I go out to the shed, and sit on "Loren". I just think about Grandpa Loren and all the alfalfa that he and I cut on the cub in my teen years. He's gone, but I can still see him standing on the drawbar teaching me how to line the sickle bar up with the previous cut so the hay would lay down right. Thanks to all of you for the help, friendship and caring. You are what makes America great!!!
