I had this same problem for years on Super A tractor. Had the starter rebuilt 2 or 3 times, had some real heated discussion with starter rebuilder on several ocasions. About 10 years ago CaseIH dealers were handleing rebuilt starters. Type of deal where you exchange starters. I quite promptly removed my starter and went to dealer for exchange. This my friend cured the problem. In my opinion some Super A starters should be repaired with a 20 lb hammer.
