I've done that and would recommend you look for a smaller Honda or Toyota alternator. The other option is to convert the 6 v. generator to 12 volt, which you will have to have a shop take care of. The Delco alt. fits so close there's little room for belt adjustment and hood clearance. I had to heat and bend the bracket, add another strap and move the radiator bracket around to get it to fit AGAP. The Red has done the 12v. conversion and I think he said it ended up around $200 by the time he finished.
