I've got the L59AM mower deck. I previously had an old lift for a snow shovel on the tractor. I took the shovel and lift off to put the mower deck on. I'd like to get this tractor restored this winter and don't care to have the paint rubbed off when I'm done. The old lift was well centered, however, it was welded quite a bit and looked pretty bad. I'm wondering if this problem I'm having isn't a common problem with the manual lift for Woods. There is a book out on how to restore tractors see this link "https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/store/books/index.htm". If you look at the photo very carefully you will see the lever mounted on the outside of the shaft!!! WHY???
