get all the advice you can get and then evaluate it .talk to people that know tractors farmers ,mechanics and salesmen . my advice stay away from the N series ford tractors .i am not really a expert on tractors but owned a 8N ford and a 240 international at the same time and after a short time there was no doubt which one i was going to keep .size and mechanical shape they were about the same . the PTO ,hydraulics ,brakes and steering on the 240 int. are far better than the ford .my neighbor has a 9N ford that i have used .even with new brake shoes it is joke between about having to standup on the brakes for them to work .also the N series is over priced for what it can do .
