I had the instructions on the sketch but they didn't show up so here it is- The trade mark side of the magnet is at the top of the sketch I use #14 solid core wire Make about 30 turns on each leg Observe winding direction (it will affect polarity) Place keeper bar across the ends of the magnet (I use a bar of cast iron but maybe a piece of steel will work) Touch wire ends to a 6 or 12 volt battery for 1 to 2 seconds only (I have used both with good results- it may be a good idea to run a lead away from the battery to reduce the chance of sparks near the battery) Slide the keeper off the ends of the magnet at the same time Double check the polarity of the magnet- the trademark side should attract the needle od a compass. If you have more than one magnet to do you might want to make a setup that you can slide the magnet in and out of.I made one of 1/8 plywood. Make two small boxes that the magnet legs can just slide into and wind the wire around the boxes.instead of just winding around the magnet. I did a little test with a magnet that had about 9 pounds pull and found afterwards had well over 20 pounds. Good luck.
