I'm with Red, Chad. Pull the plugs and crank away. If the machine is still 6-volt you can crank longer than you might do with compression, but it's still important to let it rest a little. If 12-volt, go easy. I cranked mine 10 secs, let it rest 30-40, and did that about eight times. There is something somewhere in the boooks about packikng the pump gears with grease, but I never had need to try it. The cranking did just fine. Did you use an asssembly lube?
