I just rebuilt a mag for a Farmall A and it does switch to 30 deg advance at about 400 rpm.At that speed the impulse coupling is out of the picture.This is what advances the timing.If you saw one disassembled,you would see how it works.If I get a digital camera,I would like to do a photo essay on how to inspect/repair mags.One of these days................
