Brian: Your story sounds somewhat like the auction I went to 4 years ago It was a Farmall 200 with fasthitch and dual narrow front. I thought somwone painted it black at first glance. It was dirt. Lots of dirt\oil\grease. I'll guess all dirt since the day it left the factory was still sticking to it. The owner said, proudly, that he had the local gas station jock "overhaul" it about 20 years ago and he hasn't done any more repair to it since. The rear tires had to be original. They should have been used on that TV show "Green Acres". Patch on patch. Tire boots that had to be home made. I counted 5 half foot splits in just one tire. I almost felt it may have been unsafe standing close to either rear tire because they looked like they were gonna blowup any second. Etc etc.. Anyways..it sold for $2000.
Whew. The auctioneer kept complaining that he sold a Super C a week earlier with a badly stuck engine for almost $2000 so this was worth lots more than that. He said:.Come on boys, bid it up. Ya jest don't see'em this way so much any more. Ha ha. Ya, right on. Gene.
