Kelly, its good to hear someone else say that when you are out "tinkering" you are in a better place. I have spent the last few years as an engineer for various companies but have always longed to return to the farm in TN. I too realize that there is no fortune to be made by baling a few hundred bales of hay to feed a few head of cattle that will sell for far less than expected. If you decide to sell them. But thats not the reason I am interested in doing it again. There are other reasons than making money to do thr things that we do. My father and his four brothers made a living farming and all they had was a Farmall H, a Super A, an International baler (International engine) an Oliver combine (Wisconsin engine) four mules and a lot of determination. I can't say that life was all that glorious but I don't remember missing one meal until I got out on my own. You can do or make due with what you have to work with if you want to. The H will do fine if you realize its limitations. The baler you choose will do fine if you also realize its limitations. By the way I don't remember that old International baler missing to many bales and it would bale enough every year to fill three barns, sometimes more. Good luck on the choice of equipment you make. Color doesn't make that much diffrence, they all were good or there would not have stayed in buisiness as long as they did. The main thing is to enjoy what you are doing.
