I just rebuilt a H engine recently. I was unable to turn bare engine over by hand after installing pistons. I think it would be too loose if you could do this. As mentioned were all clearances measured? Ring end gaps,piston skirt clearance,rod and main bearing clearances? Before rebuild i could turn engine over with one finger. I'll be interested in other comments and Good Luck!!
