I put new plugs in the holes and it fires on #4 again. Question again. Logic says there had to be a voltage drop for #4 to not fire unless you put new plug into it. Remember I swapped 1 2 & 3 into it to see if I could get it to fire and they all failed on that hole. MY understanding is that plugs never really go bad. That as long as they are clean and the electrode is flat and not broken internally or the insulation is not cracked that a plug will last a lifetime. I think these are 61 yrs old! ( smile). ANYway. I want to thank all of you for your help. SO I pose this. The COIL is most likely my next problem for grandpa said he never fixed anything till it broke. The coil has been in the hot TEXAS sun, frezezzing weather and rain here in TEXAS for 61 years already.. What are the chances that it is starting to fail internally? How can I test the output and should I get a new one now before the price goes up/ ( smile ). This tractor has never been garaged for 61 years and I keep it out side now. YOU all have been so helpfull that if any of you get to TEXAS you are invited to have a texas BBQ meal on me at the best BBQ place in town.
