More than likely, the milky fluid was water in what little oil was left. I forget exactly what the procedure was, but it is in the operator's manual. I will check if I remember when I am at home tonite. I seem to recall something about putting the level check hole at the 3 o'clock position or something like that when filling it. Then when you rotate the hub so that the level check hole is at the bottom, some oil will run out, untill the oil is at the right level. There is a tube inside that runs up a bit, so only so much oil drains out. I guess this procedure would tend to replace some of the old oil with a little new oil each time. Again, this is from memory, and I don't remember that well. I only did it once so far. I will double check things tonight. I don't think you can go wrong by putting way too much oil in it, then rotating the level check hole to the bottom. All the excess will then drain out. The only hastle is that is winds up all over the steering box casting and eventually all over whatever the tractor is sitting on.
