A Brakes and Binoculars

I'm trying to remove the brake wheel/disk on the driver seat side of my BN, which is similar to an A, and I wanted to know the best way to do it. That area is pretty rusty, and I'm thinking of doing a couple of things: 1. Making a special gear puller that would secure to the end of the spline part of the shaft; 2. Tap on the spline end of the shaft to force the bearing out of its seat, then keep tapping until the brake is free. I'm also looking for a good pair of binoculars that can see across a field (about 300 yds) and can be used for whale watching (about 1/2 mile). Something in the $50 - $100 range would be nice. Thanks.
