I started up my 1950 C this past Friday. Right around 30 degrees. It hadn't been run since October 13th. Gave it a little choke and it was running before it turned over 3 times. That is with the original 6 volt system. My 1948 C with 12 volts didn't even think twice about it and fired right off. That isn't even cold yet. We don't get as cold as Hugh does but I remember in the 60s and 70s when it got down to about -30. That is when block heaters are worth their weight in gold. An engine may start but the oil is so thick that it takes a while to get any oil pressure. Any help you can give an engine will just prolong its life.
