Sounds like you have an engine in perfect mechanical condition! So long as an engine doesn't detonate (ping) under heavy load, high compression is an advantage: The higher compression ratio, the better an engine's thermal efficiency. In other words a higher compression engine will develop more power and/or burn less fuel. If it were mine I'd leave the engine just as it is!!
