Pete I used a roll pin also . If you had the engine crank , make it like the end of it plus the extra that you add to go in the crank center hole . You have to mount the pump tight or the shaft will have the tendency to jump out like a hand crank does . It does work well though The pump came off a combine , I think it just lifted the head so it's only about 1100 g/p/s, but plenty big enough for a Super A If I remember you must add about 3/8 of an inch for the centering hole on the crank and taper it so it fits tight.
