Thanks Les, I have 3 of these tractors right now and have owned 2 others all with IH or horizontal distributor. My tractors have all been 1952 or newer, three of them being number series. There is a 1954 Super A for sale in photo adds, has the upright distributor, old type tyrods and what looks like A style front wheels. This looks to me as though it is very early Super A, maybe even a tractor built from two. The idea of the upright Delco replacing the Mag seems reasonable. It is highly unlikely tractor was converted from IH to Delco distributor as the IH version was virtually trouble free even after 50 years.
