Bill's post was kind of an idiot post, Clipper. I don't profess to being a mechanic. Just farmed for most of my life, having owned 15 tractors, 8 trucks and and 9 cars, about 60% of them bought new. I never had to reduild a diesel under 10,000 hours. The truck I rebuilt the heads on had 300,000 miles on and I questioned spending more money on. In the 19 60 and 70 it was more economical to buy new than spend money on them. I just wanted the rest of the growing season out of the truck. Never did rebuild the bottom end. I never made any money listening to either a parts changer or a mechanic. I just asked what it would cost and made my own decision.
