It was a sunny 65 here in East Central Illinois today. I started out early this morning to put a new alternator on my H. I bought a single wire Delco at the Carquest store for about $70. Also got new belts since the old ones were pretty well shot. While I was in town I went to get a muffler and couldn't resist buying lift arms and a top link for the Saginaw hitch I've had laying around. All of that cost considerably more than the alternator however. Well, I got everything put on without a hitch (pardon the pun) and talked to a neighbor about an old scraper blade he had laying around. He decided he'd just give it to me after a few minutes!! We loaded it up and I brought it home. I made Mama happy because I got the holes filled in the driveway and done some cleaning in the horse barn, now I just have one problem--I'm going to need a lot more gas cans to keep the old H filled up so I can get her out and use her more often!!
