The original cub throwout bearing is a graphite block. Bates Corp. makes a bearing replacement for this, but the IH graphite replacements hold up pretty well, don't use an after-market part here. If the carb is still original, it is an IH carb. Part number is on the body. Kits can be purchased from dealer - also available on e-bay all the time. Later cubs had brake bands with a toggle assembly. The early cubs (includes yours) have the band without the toggle.
