OK - recommend you double check once more for something floating around in the bottom of the tank and getting stuck in the fuel outlet. Try removing the sediment bulb assembly (unscrew it out of the tank), dumping a gallon of fresh gas in and then catching the gas in a container as it drains out. Check the gas carefully for any "junk". If you find anything, remove the tank and give it a thorough cleaning. If it's not that, there may be something inside the carb bowl that periodically gets sucked into the main jet. Only cure is to remove, disassemble and thoroughly clean the carburetor. Could also be an intermittantly sticking float as you suggested earlier. Next time the motor begins to starve for fuel, immediately remove the drain plug from the carb bowl. If you get just a dribble of gas suspect a sticking float. However if you get a solid steam, the float/needle valve are working OK - problem's gotta be with the high speed jet. Again good luck!!
