Dave, As you know there are three screws on the carb......the top most small screw is against a stop...it does not enter the carb....this screw is the idle speed adjustment....the next screw, inters the carb, this is the idle, mixture screw.....with the engine warm and the hand lever (back by the steering wheel),slowlw turn the screw in 1/4 turn at a time until the engine ,slows or runs rough....now back this screw out,the engine will run faster and smoother, then start to slow and run rough......turn the screw back in an then out until the engine idles the fastest and the smoothest....Now pull the hand lever ,wide open (engine runing as fast as it will go)....adjust the bottom, fast adjuctment screw ,adjusting as you did the idle mixture, screw ....turn in and out 1/4. untill the engine runs the fastest.....your done......If the engine spudders" under a load turn the high speed screw out 1/4 or 1/2 turn......if the engine smokes (black) turn it in......If you will follow Waqyne Swenson's and my directions you can't go wrong.......Don
