MJD: The fully mounted plows are one item I have never followed closely. I was kind of big on trailer and later semi-mounts. The only mounted fast hitch listed in 150 Years of IH is the model 411, 16" only and 3, 4 and 5 bottoms. This plow was still in the IH buyers guide in 1975. It has the same box beam across the top as the No. 60 trailer and the semi-mounted plows that all came out in early 1960s There is currently another thread on implement alley page on 3x14 fast hitch plow. There is a new post this am suggesting the number 309. I personally seem to remember numbers 26 and 36 being 2 and 3 furrow respectively. Those numbers probably go back to mid 50s. I know the model 60 trailer came in 1962. My thoughts are if the plow has box beam on top, trip bottoms, plow chief or super chief bottoms and single arm coulters. There is a good chance it is a post 1962 plow. 1962 also being introduction of 06 tractors, significant changes were also being made to tillage equipment. Most mounted and semi-mounted plows of that era were being produced for fast hitch as well as 3 point hitch. Probably not all of the items I listed as post 1962 came that exact year. I would say a good rule of thumb is if plow has all 4, good chance it is post 1965, if it has none of the 4 I would say pre 1960. Some of those items 60 to 65. There are guys out there that know these answers, problem is most of them are like me and know what they remember. If we get enough discussion going, it may spark someone's memory. "Oh yea, I bought that plow the year I got married, hey Annie what year did we get married." That is exactly how it will hit them. Or something like my oldest was concieved in the seat of a 706 or was that the Super M. You start humouring we old guys and it is anazing what we can remember.

Chores - by Frank Young. The ceaseless passing of time! It is at once our friend and our enemy. It measures our progress and it makes us old. Like most features of our life, few things are all good or all bad, and most such judgments depend on our own perspective or viewpoint. In our particular hobby, we enjoy the nostalgic return to the days of our youth as we recreate many of the scenes that took place on the family farm that served as the stage for the first few acts of the play that is our live
