My brother has 1944 "H" bought new by our father. During most recent use generator was not charging sufficiently at any rpm above idle to keep engine running. Returned to shed, turned selector switch to "D" and had very dim lights. Got brave and set it on "B"--all bulbs instantly blew after giving impression that they were flashbulbs! Smoke came from switch box, and upon opening it selector was totally melted. His question is how did the gen. (6V)produce the voltage to blow the bulbs and burn the switch up? Has anyone else had this problem, and how was it solved? Thanks in advance.
