Adam, usally when the TA goes out it is the overrun clutch (ramp and roller assembly). Your TA clutch could be slipping but that is usally not the case. I have replaced the ramp and roller assembly on all three of my tractors to the heavy duty sprague overrun clutch. You can have your present TA rebuild with the sprague unit by Richard M. Bednarski, 215 Buffalo Rd So., Washington, Pa 15301. Phone # 724 345-3546 or 800 832-6350 in the evenings. I replaced both main and TA clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearigs all seals and gaskets plus had Richard rebuild the TA with Sprague overrun clutch for $892.00 Once you split your tractor you usually don't want to have to do it again.
